We here at Food Bytes Back are dedicated to saying, “hey, but what if it was more fucked up, but in the most logical way possible?”
So whether you don’t have time to make another trip to the store, the store is all sold out of the usual stuffing bases, or you’re an unhinged food writer who’s all out of topical, holiday-themed ideas, these are the stuffings that will have people saying “oh… that’s… creative?”
So where do we go from here? Pound cake stuffing? Streusel topping on green bean casserole? Perhaps some sort of condiment, made out of mashed up berries?
How, in the nation that conquered ⅓ of the world in search of spices, could the food end up being so bland?
For every (former?) office worker who’s getting really into baking, there’s an essential worker getting really into microwave quesadillas.
We are well beyond the point of no return for any sense of “normalcy” in the restaurant industry.
